Even if i dont do any updates here on the blog i didnt gave up on this project. Mostly i’m waiting for the new Fusion7 release.
I’m a little afraid of this one, because Eyeon is building a completly new internal 3D system. which, i think, will break compatibililty with older plugins. this would lead into rebuilding everything from the start.
but i have to see what happens when Fusion7 arives.
on the other side i thinking about changing the code to become a PRMan (=Pixar Renderman) bridge.
Pixar announced that the upcoming release of PRMan will be free for non-commercial work and a single licences will be only around 500USD.
lets see what comes in the next couple of month
Eyeon released Fusion 6 in 2009 and back then there was this glossy buttons style state of the art. now, in 2013, this aint so new anymore. therefore i create a little more modern GUI theme for Fusion.
Its a “flat” shaded theme.
you can download the theme here
then unzip the file into your fusion/Skins directory
if you find some errors or missing buttons just drop me a line or fix them by yourself
Yes, this is the first time i have to deliver bad news on this project.
yesterday my development machine broke without any reason or warning. i had an idea for something i wanted to try out, pushed the power button and the pc hangs in the bios startup screen. in the next couple of days i’ll try to resurect it or get some spare parts from ebay. this machine was a very old one but it had all the stuff i needed for coding my plugin.
luckily i decided with the last release to move all the code to github so that nothing should be lost.
if somebody else is playing around with the code and have some new stuff, feel free to commit your changes.
i hope i can deliver better news shortly
ever wanted to know where fusion is used worldwide? i can show you the answer or at least the people who think that this blog is nice to read.
we can see there is hole around africa and asia. i think that china should be on the map too, but they block wordpress. so chinese reach this block just via proxy.
this post has nothing to do with the plugin i’m developing but its related to Fusion and CG and compositing
for a long time i admired uncharted territory for the work they did on roland emmerich “anonymous”. really great use of tools in comp. my jaw dropped to the floor after i saw the water/ocean displacement they did in it. and all in comp!
after i watched the presentation by rony soussan at siggraph 2012 i got a little more clear how they did it and i started to playing around.
invested some hours and got this:
the example comp to let you play with this can be found here
